How to use Dimension Explorer

Load your dimension scores
The explorer pulls your dimension scores from your perception assessment. If you haven't taken the assessment, a default landscape is generated for exploration practice.

Walk the terrain
Use WASD or arrow keys to walk through the landscape. Mouse or touch drag to look around. Each terrain feature corresponds to a specific consciousness dimension.

Identify your dimensions
Peaks represent your high-scoring dimensions. Valleys show lower-scoring ones. The terrain is color-coded by dimension category.

Visit waypoints
Specific waypoints are scattered across the terrain. Reaching a waypoint reveals a short meditation prompt connected to that dimension.

Save a snapshot
You can save a visual snapshot of your current terrain state. Compare it to your terrain from a month ago to see how your dimensions have shifted.

Why visualize consciousness as terrain?

Abstract self-knowledge is hard to sit with. You can know intellectually that your "pattern recognition" score is 85 and your "empathy" score is 65, but what do those numbers actually mean? Dimension Explorer translates numbers into space. Your strong dimensions become peaks you can climb. Your weak dimensions become valleys you can walk into. The terrain is a literal embodiment of your inner topology, and walking through it is a different kind of self-knowledge than reading a dashboard.

How the terrain is generated

When you load the explorer, it reads your perception assessment scores from your HYVE Tribe profile and feeds them into a procedural terrain generator. Each dimension contributes a specific region of the landscape — awareness becomes open sky, empathy becomes rolling meadow, pattern recognition becomes crystalline formations, intuition becomes flowing water, and so on. The result is a landscape that looks different for every user, because every user has a different profile.

Walking as meditation

Walking meditation is an ancient Buddhist practice. The slow, intentional movement through space is itself a form of awareness practice. Dimension Explorer brings that practice into a virtual landscape that is specifically about your own mind. Walking from your strongest dimension to your weakest one — and feeling the terrain shift from peaks to valleys — is a visceral way to experience your own profile.

Waypoints and prompts

Scattered across the terrain are waypoints, small markers that you can approach. When you reach a waypoint, a short meditation prompt appears, connected to the dimension that waypoint represents. The prompts are drawn from classical contemplative traditions, adapted to the specific dimension. Reaching a "pattern recognition" waypoint might give you a prompt about noticing recurring patterns in your week; reaching an "empathy" waypoint might invite you to feel into someone you know.

Terrain evolution

Your perception scores change over time. Every time you retake the assessment or your scores shift through game play, your terrain updates. You can save visual snapshots of your terrain at different points in time and compare them — a month-ago snapshot versus a today snapshot can reveal growth areas you wouldn't see in a dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a powerful computer?

No. The terrain is optimized for mid-range hardware. Any modern laptop, phone, or tablet can run it smoothly.

Can I use VR headsets?

Yes. The explorer works in WebVR-compatible browsers with any standard VR headset.

What if I haven't taken the assessment?

A default terrain is generated so you can practice exploration. You'll get a much more personal experience once you've completed your perception assessment.

Is it multiplayer?

Currently, Dimension Explorer is a single-user experience. Multi-user terrain sharing is on the roadmap.

Can I export my terrain?

You can save visual snapshots as PNG images. Full 3D model export is not currently supported.

Does it count toward tier progression?

Time spent in the explorer contributes to lab XP, which is part of your overall tier score.

Is it free?

Yes. Dimension Explorer is free for every HYVE Tribe account.
